Residents Rally across Maine against Hate

A gay man was brutally assaulted leaving a theater in Portland. KKK signs were posted in Hallowell and black effigies hung from trees on Mount Desert Island. Swastikas were scrawled on public buildings. In 2008, stories of hate permeated the headlines of Maine newspapers. more


Community Conversations Continue to Unite Residents

The winter storms did not stop Lewiston/ Auburn residents from coming together in a spirit of fellowship and understanding at the Center’s on-going Community Conversation series. more


Less Fear After 10 Years

For the past decade, the Center for Preventing Hate has been working with youth and adults throughout Maine and around the world to reduce fear and promote respect. more
