CLIMATE ASSESSMENT
The Center offers research studies involving focus groups designed to evaluate the frequency, form and impact of bias, stereotyping and harassment in schools and communities.
The information collected in the focus groups provides a foundation for understanding the specific dynamics of bias and harassment in a community and offers a starting point for prevention efforts.
STRUCTURE
A researcher from the Center meets with small groups of participants from a broad cross-section of a school or community and facilitates discussions focused on select topics. The researcher uses open-ended questions and collects confidential verbal and written statements to gather large amounts of highly detailed information.
FOCUS GROUP REPORT
The content of the focus groups is analyzed and included in a written report that provides a rich, detailed and compelling view of aspects of a cultural climate as perceived by members of a community.
