ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PROGRAMS
The Center offers two levels of workshops for elementary students; Bullying Prevention Trainings for students in grades three and four, and an Elementary Student Leader Workshop for students in grades five and six.
Bullying Prevention Workshops: Grades Three and Four
This 90-minute workshop provides students with the knowledge and skills to:
Identify bullying behaviors
Recognize the negative impact of bullying
Intervene in low-key ways when they see bullying in their classroom or school
Through a series of interactive activities, students recognize the impact of put-downs and build empathy for the targets of bullying. The workshop uses the acclaimed children’s book Say Something by Peggy Moss to discuss the benefits of standing up for their peers.
This workshop is designed for an individual classroom, approximately 15-25 students. The Center can do multiple workshops in a day to accommodate larger schools.
Elementary Student Leader Workshop: Grades Five and Six
This is an interactive, day-long workshop for a group of up to 40 students who have social influence and leadership potential. This workshop contains age-appropriate concepts and activities that focus on creating a safe and respectful school environment.
