Erica manages all parts of the Healing Hospitals Project. She meets with hospital administrators and health care workers to determine the needs of the organizations and how the Center can assist in creating a bias-free work place.

Erica Schair-Cardona graduated from Middlebury College with a B.A. in 1998. She worked as a paralegal in San Francisco, focusing on business and family immigration. Erica earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 2003 and became a staff attorney and Equal Justice Works Fellow at the Rocky Mountain Children’s Law Center in Denver, Colorado. At the Children’s Law Center, she represented abused and neglected children, foster parents and families. Upon moving back to Portland in 2006, she became the first Staff Attorney at the Volunteer Lawyers Project. She left that position when she had her son in 2007.
